After a successful stop in Danyang, I continued on to Kyungju to meet my friend Jong Young. I got there in the early afternoon, and it was hot. Very, very hot. Jong Young came up with a reasonable plan of shooting at sunrise and sunset, and doing scouting missions during the day time to gather ideas of places to shoot whilst avoiding the heat in his nice air-conditioned vehicle.
After taking a short rest, we decided to head off to Pohang to take a look around. Although we saw some nice places, we were feeling uninspired as the sky above us was a boring white all day. No clouds, no blue, just white. We got in the car and decided to head back to Kyungju to take some pictures at Anabji (안압지). Right around sunset time, the boring sky that I mentioned before turned to an amazing, deep blue color, with a thin line of penetrating orange below from the sunset that was taking place in the West. The change in weather happened just like that, in a matter of minutes, and we scurried around looking for a subject to shoot under these fantastic conditions. We were out in the middle of nowhere, and lightning was crashing all around us. So, we headed to the sea.
